Carly App

Hi All, I was just had a couple of questions pertaining to the Carly app. I want to code my R60 JCW Countryman so that only the city lights act as DRL instead of the headlights, side markers, city lights and tail lights. Can you only use the genuine Carly adapter with this app, or is it possible to use another brand? Also, I know it is a yearly fee, lets say I purchase it for the year and turn off auto renewal, after the first year will my settings that I have coded revert back to normal? I don't believe the dealerships around me can make this change and I would like to preserve the life of the bulbs in the car especially the Xenons. Any help would be appreciated.

Once you code something it stays unless dealer overwrites it or you do. Don't know much about Carly beyond that.

I tried the Carly App a couple or three years ago. Expensive interface and expensive program, I was never happy with the performance of the app back then. Then I discovered the bimmercode app. $20 interface and ~$25 for the program, and the shortcuts work much better IMO. You also have the option of using the "Expert" mode for more complicated changes. I found everything I needed in the shortcut menu. Shortcuts are updated at regular intervals to include more options. A couple of things I had to use the Expert mode for two years ago are now on the shortcut menu. Also, another plus, you only buy the program once.

My bad. Didn't read the OP close enough. Thanks for the correction.
