Accessing the Canbus twisted pair
anyone done any experimenting on the canbus on our r53's?
I'm getting terrible speed from the kline on my 2005 r53, 1hz update rate! The canbus is much faster but I'm not sure if bmw implemented standards onto it, ie hook it up to an odb female port and read from there.
I know some of the race logging setups can read it once they are tapped into it, not sure if it supports standard connections once pins 6 & 14 are hooked up

making progress, somoene on the bimmer forum made a canbus to arduino to elm327 bluetooth setup that reads the bluetooth requests and sends them to the canbus and then sends the replies back
that's exactly what we need to make the data loggers speed up, 1 update a second is far too slow to be of any use off kline
