NCS Expert Trouble Reading FRM

Car: 2010 Clubman S
NCS Expert v 4.0.1
krAPI v3.0.2
Ediabas v7.3.0
Daten v40

I'm trying to code my friend's FRM back to stock. FRM seems to be the problem after I disconnected the battery when I replaced her valve cover seals.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...al-issues.html

I have my friend's NCS Expert (used on his 1M and 135i) including laptop, cable etc.

I finally got it all set up using my the walkthrough here. I am able to communicate to the CAS (once read, it changes the R56 to R55- she has a clubman S)

However, when I select FRM I have the following error when processing the SG_CODIEREN task (stock) in the attachment. Which is translated to:

SG is not connected or does not answer FRM_70

I have made an R56 folder in the datens folder
I copied all the files from "ECU" into ECU
I DID NOT copy the sgdat files as the ones in the mini cooper guide seem to be older.
I have also ran the Laden.BAT (after changing it from bta to bat)
and am NOT using the revtor.pfl. instead using expertmode

Can anyone help? is the FRM dead? All I did was literally disconnect the battery...

Thanks
Jeremy

V40 datens

My friend's car communicates with the laptop and cable ok so the hardware should be ok.

I'm gonna try "resetting" other systems to see whether it's just the frm or others. If the other systems don't communicate with the laptop then the issue is communication. If everything else communicates then we can conclude it's the frm. Which means it could be dead. Which is ridiculous because all I did was unplug the battery!

Edit: all fuses are ok, what feeds the frm?

Ok I was able to factory program the. KOMBI and it worked which means it's not the software, laptop, or cable... Unless there's something that could cause it still from that end. I'm going to try to remove the FRM, but of course her driver seat no longer slides.. This is gonna be tricky

Removed FRM, opened it up, looked fine. Plugged it back in, but no improvement. I programmed 2RAD and that seemed to have worked so now I've given up on this car. I guess I'm going to have to bring it to the shop and it's going to cost $$$$$.

How old is the battery? MINIs are notorious for doing funny things when the battery gets weak and old.
