switched power at mirror

anyone know if there's an easy switched 12v source at the mirror?

On our 09 r56 there's a green switched wire for the sunroof, easy access and it shuts off when the car enters sleep mode

does a 05 R53 have a similar switched hot up at the sunroof control area?

For my Valentine I just ran a wire under the headliner and down the A pillar to the fuse box and used an add-a-fuse. Make sure to install it 'upside down' so that both items are still protected by the fuse.

yeah I know how to do that, but I really do not want to, on all my other cars I tapped into power at the headliner and fused it

There's a plug inside the R53 mirror base that powers mirrors that have dimming and Homelink. Don't know if the power is switched or not.

I finally got around to doing this last night, at the overhead light switches there is brown (ground) and a purple/green stripe wire that's hot.

I have not tested to see if these are switched yet
