Electrical Hella Sharp Tones?
Hella Sharp Tones?
I recently noticed that one of my horns (low tone) may be out, which got me looking into possible replacements.
I see that Hella Super Tones or Twin Tones both seem to be a popular options, and am leaning towards the latter for a more "robust" sound.
However, I did come across the following video from Subimods comparing the Super Tones v. the Sharp Tones (soundclips at 1' 37"):
The Sharp Tones seem to have a little more "bottom end" to them than the Super Tones, although not as much as the Twin Tones.
Looking at the Hella site (http://www.hella.com/MicroSite/horns/), it looks like the Sharp Tones are also slightly smaller diameter than the Super Tones (108mm v 123mm), which may make them a little easier to fit -- although the usual MINI-to-Hella wiring issues undoubtedly remain.
So, anyone try the Sharp Tones on a MINI yet?

We've been using and installing the Hella Horns and these are the ones I use at 110 dBa they are plenty loud. But have a good tone, need to make a video of them on my car. Very cost effective too as the OEMs are expensive.

You can do the UN6628500 or the supertones. The UN6628500 have a better fit because they are close to OEM size. The Supertones will take up more space and are 118 dB .
Good luck.

Thanks, guys. I believe those are indeed the very Twin Tones I've had my eye on.
Way, I would love to hear a comparative sound clip when you get the chance.
For comparison, per Hella:
Supertones are 118db
Sharptones are 115db
Twintones are 110db
