Wiring Harness replacement

I had to have my MCS in to the dealer because the drive belt fell off! DOH!! I've got a few mods including the 15% pulley and WMS ECU flash and wondering first of all if anyone has had this happen to them after the same mods install? Mine was done at a pulleyparty in Feb. 2004 and have had no trouble until now.

Also, after telling them I did not want any software updates performed due to the aforementioned ECU flash, the dealer said they would replace a wiring harness that was an update from MINI. Can anyone tell me anything about this and what it corrects? A quick search didn't reveal anything.

Thanks!

Air Bag Harness?

It might be the passenger side air bag harness. I took mine in because a stereo installer disconnected the old harness with the battery connected, and the air bag light wouldn't go off. The dealer replaced the harness and said it was an update because several had gone bad. They tried to deny warranty coverage at first, but the mechanic said it was the harness and nothing I did.

Hope that helps.

Wiring Harness - MCS 2002

Thanks for taking the time to highlight the potential issue. I'm skeptical on this being the cause, as nothing on the interior was touched (but will investiage - as you never know).

I did read somewhere on the boards that the Engine Wiring Harness ("MAY") need to be programmed against the ECU which I am trying to validate and will report back.

If anyone knows the definitive answer to this - I would appreciate it. OR potential other solutions
