how to wire correctly auto climate unit
hello guys,
I own a Mini Countryman Cooper (non-S) 1.6 petrol automatic transmission;
I wanted to replace the control unit air conditioner from manual to automatic.
The wiring I have is composed of three plugs, one 12-pin (only 10 of which are in use) a 18-pin (of which only 15 in use) and a 5-pin cables with larger cross-section.
I enclose a photo of all, the two 12-pin and 18-pin plugs are inserted fully in the command car and run everything except the speed control of the air and obviously not part of air conditioning. Combining both controls together (by inserting the 5-pin plug in the manual and the other two in automatic) all works by controlling the air speed manual and all the rest from automatic.
Who knows help me to correctly wire the cables through 5 5 free pins (2 +3) of the other two thorns?
Thanks in advance for any information
big greetings
Alfonso

Alfonso,
Nice to see, that you have touched that mode (upgrading air condition to automatic in basic CM Cooper version)
I am thinking on the same, so I've made a list of needed hardware (enclosed excel file), which needs to replace the old one (name and part numbers for EU version, number in brackets reflects to the part numbers from the attached diagram picture):
There are two more parts to consider replacement because realoem.com says, that the part numbers are dfferent, but maybe it is not required to do so:

I am thinking on the same, so I've made a list of needed hardware (enclosed excel file), which needs to replace the old one (name and part numbers for EU version, number in brackets reflects to the part numbers from the attached diagram picture):
- Automatic air conditioning control 64119812027
- Blower unit (1) 64113422644 (it has a different part number, than in manual A/C, so probably it's needed to be replaced)
- Blower regulator (2) 64119286870 (it's kind of resistor, but as well has different part no. than in manual A/C)
There are two more parts to consider replacement because realoem.com says, that the part numbers are dfferent, but maybe it is not required to do so:
- Heater/air conditioning wiring set (7) 64119266885 (maybe some modification of the wiring from manual version should be enough)
- Bare housing, heater & a/c with evap. 64119266897 (replacing it maybe painfull, so hopefully you can manage to fit new blower and regulator in old 'bare housing')
QUESTIONS to Alfonso:
- A. Did you replace anything except the AC control unit ?
- B. Are there the connections (sockets) on the back of the control units (manual and automatic) the same, so plugs 'mechanically' fits OK?
