13watt LEDs in the Parking lamps?

I found and purchased these hoping they would be flashy, bright, and match the color of the factory xenons, which they do *perfectly*, however I'm wondering if 13w is too much.

I left them running for about 10 minute sand the wire was no warm, and the bulb was not nearly as hot as the 5watt factory halogen bulb that it replaced.

Has anyone done a similar load?

Also, as a bonus, they are pulling enough power that I'm not getting any bulb warnings, so as long as the community thinks they should be fine I will keep them in place Otherwise I'll move them to the reverse lights or send them back.

I've had just a couple errors from the left bulb because the fit is a little loose. I wedged it in a bit better and no issues since. Looks great!

So today I was walking out to my car and noticed that the projector LED (the Cree) on the driver's side was not lit, while two of the 4 SMD LEDs on passenger's side were not lit.

Is it too much to ask for to just get a decent quality bulb? I'd literally pay quadruple the price if they'd just last for a couple years (like LEDs are supposed to).

Sigh

It is common a problem with aftermarket LED bulbs because they usually don't have space for sufficient cooling. People think LED's don't generate heat, but they do, and heat makes LED's fail prematurely. They need to be kept within their spec'd operating temperatures. A light fixture originally designed for LEDs will do this by spreading the LED elements apart and mounting them on heat sinks. However, a plug-and-play replacement LED bulb needs to fit into the size of the original bulb, and often cannot dissipate heat quickly enough. The heat problem is compounded in a parking light because it is constantly on for long periods (unlike a brake or turn signal).

13W is really powerful for an LED bulb and will generate a lot of heat (in relative terms -- of course, not as hot as a standard bulb). All I could suggest is to try a lower wattage bulb (although it will be less bright), and look for features such as heat sink and cooling fins.

Not sure how much you used your fog lights, but the heat from those would kill any LED parking light fairly fast.
