If you have a newer garage door opener, it may be incompatible and require a repeater.

And don't forget you have to hit a button on your actual opener after it has learned your remote since most garage door openers are rolling code types.

Is your opener a rolling code type? Look for a "learn" button somewhere on it, probably behind a light cover. Press that, then press the button you programmed in the car.

If that doesn't work, try fresh batteries in the remote… I've found homelink is more sensitive to a weak battery in the remote than the garage door opener is, so fresh batteries can help even if the remote works fine.

It has 3 buttons. Each button is programmed separately and operates 1 door.
