One touch sunroof module

Anyone used it from KPN Tech? If so, did you follow the website instructions for wiring or figure it out another way?

You can do a little coding on the R60 to get one touch open and close of the sunroof. A lot of ppl in this forums including myself has done this and it works perfect, no need to install a module or wiring of any type.

Have a read:

can you code using bluetooth? I do not have a laptop and I doubt my tablet can connect using wires, which leaves my desktop (which has bluetooth). Is this even the right connection type?

No. That product will not allow you to use NCS Expert to make the coding changes. You can't use NCS Expert via bluetooth.

You will need a laptop (preferably with Windows XP SP2), the NCS Expert software bundle, and a BMW INPA / Ediabas K+DCAN (USB Interface) cable. THIS cable has proven to work well.

For an introduction to NCS Expert coding and the NCS Expert software, go to post #1 in THIS thread, as manho1dup has suggested.

Alternatively, you could ask someone who can do the NCS Expert coding for you. You may want to check out the NCS Expert Directory in the 2nd Generation>Modifications>Electrical thread. Perhaps there is a NCS Expert near you. Most folks will make the changes at club events, or come to you or for a modest sum/case of micro-brews!

All set. After a little chat with KPN and testing using a voltmeter the module works fine. The only difference from KPN's instructions is that you need to connect your power wire to red/gray wire and not the purple/white.

wouldn't it have cost the same to get someone in your area to code vs buying that module?

Jeez - If I was in the area, I'd have done it for a 6-pack of Shipyard Pumpkin Ale...
