You need to rotate that whole rectangular section (base of the bulb). I forget which way it turns, but it will move. Also need to unplug the plug from the bottom of the base. It's kind of a pain.
You also need to be careful. They have a capacitor that is used to light which has Stored energy in the amps and voltage that can do some real damage. Ie don't start prying open the box unless you really know what you are doing. The warning is real.
The countryman shouldn't need new bulbs yet, the oldest cars are 2 years old. The bulbs should last longer. If they did burn up the dealer should be doing these for free. So why the change? But if you insist on changing them then twist and remove igniter (thing on base of bulb) and then remove a clip and the bulb should come straight out.

I've the 4300K OEM bulbs and i want to put 6000K bulbs (i have the 6000K but i don't know how to make the swap :-( )
