i love electronics of all kinds, and i always have "crazy" ideas for little car projects. i thought id share my ideas with everyone, maybe ill spark some inspiration for a new project from someone else!

I live in Florida. I rains all the time here. once, i left my sunroof Completely open. Since minis have a 3ft sunroof, a TON of water got in the car :(
So, idea #1: Rain Sensor that closes my sunroof

figured i could wire this up to the sunroof switch or motor, put the rain sensor outside. Rain = Self closing Sunroof

Idea # 2: Heat Sensor that Opens my sunroof

just bought this. hoping it will work for what i want (if not, $3 waste, no biggie). Id like to set this to a "high" temp setting. Too Hot = Self Opening Sunroof

Idea # 3: Pointless but neat Gear Indicator

I figured i could use some reed switches, or something to that effect, and have them activate the appropriate wire on that thing for each gear, 1-5 anyway. I dont mind its "missing" 6th gear, as I do most of my driving on the highway for work, and its fairly obvious when your in 6th anyway. (yes, i know its "fairly obvious" when your in about any gear, but with being a techno geek, i cant help but to build and modify stuff like this!)
