is the delay global or just for that one icon/location?

like could the fuel pips still turn red at 35 miles or something similar?

What I mean by delay is make the warning come on at a different interval. In BMW's infinite wisdom, the lowest level for our vehicle is already set at around 35mi or ~1.5gal US.

This is the line that affects when the light/warning comes on:

TANK_SCHWELLE_RESERVE
wert_01

wert_02 should equal around 45mi / ~2gal US.
wert_03 should equal around 55-60mi / ~2.5gal US

**and**

TANK_SCHWELLE_AUF/AB
wert_02

Change this to wert_01, and you should be able to set the warning to around 6 liters.

thanks for the clarification. I think it already is about 35 miles. and doesn't sound like it'll clear that icon anyway.

Hey, I take it the R60 is too new to work with a modified vagcom kkl 409.1 cable right? I need to buy an honest to goodness k+dcan cable?

I cheaped out and got the vagcom and modified it but its not reading.. :(

That is the older blue cable if I remember correctly, which services the older BMW chassis from a few generations back.

You are correct - that will not provide a connection to the R60 - you'll need to grab one of the silver K+DCAN cables.

Wondering if a PULSAR will require me to code-out the 3rd brake light in the R60? ...see THIS post.

good morning gentlemen,

before firm update 12.20.2011 dash board showed this: scrolled info, odometer and trip mileage

Countryman-Specific Coding - R60 Guide-odo1.jpg

but, after the update it only shows: scrolled info and odometer where trip mileage is in "scrolled".

Countryman-Specific Coding - R60 Guide-odo2.jpg

is there any way to show trip mileage next to the odometer info?

thanks

Thank god someone else noticed this...

When I had my R60 in for service, I was driving an R56s and noticed that the gauge was like that. I thought to myself, "Wow, I'm glad mine isn't like that!"

As luck would have it, the latest Datens make every tach look like that. As of yet, I have not found a way around it, or a path back to the old look. If someone else has, please chime in.

I believe they've actually edited the layout in the software that extends beyond what we have the ability to code in/out... Quite sad really.

Side note on that issue:

I'm in the process of reviewing the v46 Datens (just came out) to see if there's anything different that we can look into for this issue (or any others).

And yes, these will be made available shortly for those that would like to mess with these. Interesting find in the v46 logs... Paceman (ahem... Countryman Coupe), anyone?

My R60 is in the shop for an intermittent TPM monitor issue. A MINIUSA tech and my shop have been trying to figure out what is causing this. I've got a Coupe loaner, so it makes the delay a bit less annoying. I'm betting that it will be returned with the V46 Datens...

Ok.. So I have followed this for awhile and bought a R60 2012 Countryman s All4.. I have only a mac and don't know a thing about coding. Like with the company ( DVDinMotion) where you put a disc in and it codes everything you want, can this be done without me trying to fiddle around with the coding?

There are much smarter minds than mine in this thread, but I would caution against trying to take on the coding task yourself. It is possible to brick your MINI if you are careless or are unfamiliar with the ramifications of your changes.

As an alternative to doing the coding yourself, you could check THIS thread to see if an NCS Expert coder is available in the Seattle area.

BTW - You can run a Windows OS on your Mac along with OS X using Apple's BootCamp software (requires a reboot) or virtualization software (Parallels or VMWare) which allows OS X and Win to run simultaneously...

HTH,

Koopah beat me to it!!

Try to find a member up there. We're happy to help folks who don't have the equipment or know how. This is sort of dangerous to attempt blindly, and you'd run into issues with Mac.

I completely agree and understand. There is a huge mini community up here and a ton of tech programmers and coders.. Just they don't reside in the same person!! LOL

QUestion though, is there a DVD that can update the code? Meaning you write what I want, code it to a CD then I install this into my mini?

Tutorial Here (on Google Docs)

Where is the DVD option? Does my Countryman have a DVD player?

hey guys, so I got my cable finally and sucessfully coded a bunch of stuff I wanted, like the 2 touch sunroof and keyfob allowing windows to go up/down.

For some reason though, I lost two features! My car no longer blinks 3 times if i depress the turn signal, it only blinks once. Anyone know what the code is for this?

ALso my doors used to lock when i drove away, they no longer do. Any idea what caused this or how I can code it back?

Yep - no problem. Both of those are switched in the car's software, itself.

If you have Connected, it will be in your options menu. If you don't, you should be able to go through the menu on your tach's DIC.

Set the blinks to 3 and the drive-off locks to on. You're all set!

oh sweet, so it wasnt caused by anything I did while coding?

I assume when you say DIC, youre referring to the BC?

Driver Information Center is what I always refer to it as (hence DIC)... the little screen on the bottom of your tach.
