Can you access the ULF module with NCS?

Can anyone access their Bluetooth ULF module with NCS Expert?

Mine just errors out with No response from control unit. INPA gives me the same error (however, INPA can communicate with my IBOC HD tuner on the MOST bus just fine). DIS can communicate with the ULF module fine.

I have tried both EDIABAS 6.4.7 and 7.2 (with v41 datens). I want to try to enable the SMS and A2DP support!

What is your Radio module? RAD2 or 2URAD? I have run into a few people who can access BMW and MINI radio and bluetooth modules and a bunch who can not (Including myself)

I think the deal is the comm modules are on MOST, and NCSExpert uses DCAN to communicate. There is a built-in MOST to DCAN gateway, but I have yet to meet anyone who seems to get that activated, or who will explain how they got it activated. I'd like to add weatherband to my car, and still can not do that.

FYI, what cell phone do you have? There are many phones that will not work with the SMS feature, including iPhones.

If you load the R56.PRG ECU file in Tool32 then there is a JOB in there which enables or disables the bridge. However, I do not have an original MULF unit so I cannot say it works with NCS or not.

If you are kind enough to test that and see if it helps, it would be great to know.

Update:
The JOB name is: most_can_gateway_enable
You need to enter an argument in the Arguments dialog box, which should read "0xF1" to allow access from the CAN bus to the MOST bus. You should get a result like "JOB OK" after double-clocking the job if it did execute properly.

Thanks! I will try that on my friend's MINI and my BMW!

Update: no go on the BMW. I can't enter the argument in a format that the program will accept!

This is crazy and very frustrating. Toolset32 simply returns an argument error, even though it rubs, sees the car, etc. going to look at a MINI R50 this afternoon to compare

I wonder if this is actually doable or not, or if this is only doable by the dealer. I have a dealer-furnished loaner for a while that has every function EXCEPT A2DP..... would love to enable it. As a friendly gesture. :P
