There are several settings related to the folding mirrors in the FRM module, but none of them function on the R56 because the mirrors are not connected to the FRM.

I wouldn't think the R55 is any different, but if you say the mirrors auto un-fold then something must be different...

I do believe alexs3d2 is right, unlike the windows, on the mini you cannot code the mirrors with the fob...it is only activated through the *** on ur door panel.

You can do it on the bimmers...but as far as I read on the modules, not applicable for the Mini (even though the ecu/cpu is similar for a lot of things)

did you get ur car with the pf mirror factory build or you did it yourself ?

They were factory installed. I can get them to unfold with the key fob just not fold.

Im looking at the tace file right now, and can't find anything ... it does exist as to be added in the VO, but has of having it on FRM ... can't seem to find it
You should have
SPIEGELABKLAPPEN
aktiv
which (google translated is mirror flipping)
However in the FRM, that is the only thing about it...

SPIEGEL ABKLAPPEN means mirror folding...
SPIEGEL ANKLAPPEN means mirror un-folding...

Reading through the BMW WDS it does confirm that the FRM should not be connected to the mirrors on the R56. It also says that the mirror glass should tilt on reverse, if the *** is on the correct side, which I believe none has actually seen working. So maybe the WDS is not that accurate afterall...

I can fully confirm that the WDS has many errors in it. There a a number of things that are in the BMW WDS that work on the BMW's and it seems they were copied into the MINI WDS and don't work on the MINI. I.E. they took a BLW WDS and modified it for MINI use but missed takeing out all the things that do not work on the MINI.

On my 2008 I wish i could get the mirrors to unfold with the fob but it does not work.

Here is what the FRM module has:

SPIEGEL_HEIZUNG

SPIEGEL_MEMORY

SPIEGEL_BORDSTEIN_AUTOM

SPIEGEL_EINKLAPPEN

SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP

SPIEGEL_ELEKTROCHROM

I had been able to fold out mirrors previously but since the dealer replaced one I can no longer get them to work with the fob. The do work from the switch inside the car, so I guess since they are not actually controlled by the FRM module we are stuck.

folding mirrors

Killerfox,

I am a new owner of a 2008 Cooper S. When I got it, the mirrors
would fold and unfold with the fob, or 20 MPH which ever came first.

The GPS kept wanting to go to California.

After about 2 weeks of that, it ask if I wanted to RESET. Being stupid,
I pushed down on the joy stick. It no longer wants to go to Calif..

But the fob no longer controls the mirrors.

The car was manufactured on 02/20/2008.

I can now drive 60+ MPH with the mirrors folded.
They will not fold at that speed. There is a sensor somewhere.

Starting to learn about datems.

From what I've gathered, the only 2nd generation MINIs it works on are the 2013-2016 Countryman and Paceman that have a button the doors that works the powerfold mirrors rather than the ****.
