no start and blowing fuses

Changed the clutch with some help from NAM threads. All back together.

Anyway, i go to start it up and the check engine light is on, so is the EML light, i figure it needs to be reset... All the electronics in the mini worked in the first key position, windows, lights, panels. Turn to start and the panels and instruments all die. no start.

I checked the fuses, the Ignition Fuse is blown. I replaced it, it blew again. I have no clue and I'm an hour and a half from diagnostics equip.... uh.

I'm dreading having to take it all apart again.

just in case

I had this problem, if anyone else ever does, watch REALLY carefully as you lift the motor back into place after any work (in my case, clutch replacement) pinched wire = shorted wire and blown fuses. All fixed, runs great.

Exactly what I was going to say, pinched wire.

Without a good knowledge of electronics and how to read and understand schematics your best bet is to just look EVERYWHERE and make sure no wires are pinched.

If you do have a good knowledge of electronics / schematics you can see which fuse is blown and figure out where the problem is much easier.

All the diagnostic equipment in the world isn't going to tell you a wire is pinched / shorted somewhere.
