I have 08 Cooper S with USB/Aux set up.
I recently bought a y cables via ebay so I could listen to music while charging the ipod.

the problem is that the usb part doesnt seem to recognize/charge my ipod.

I'm using Ipod classic 7th gen. Aux works fine but it just doesnt charge :(

I've heard of charge converters. Would this little thing fix my problem ?

tried to find some solutions on google but everything was about iphone 3gs and 4th gen nanos

any help would be appreciated!

go over to the NAV and AUDIO section where this and many other questions about iPods and music are answered.

but the short story is that as you purchased the "Y-Cable" off of ebay it is probably the wrong one. There are three different versions of the cable. And you will need the LASTED version.
