rolling your windows down with remote key

I tried searching for threads on this, so please don't flame! BUT, My 05 MCS does not feature the remote open windows/sunroof function.

My previous 05 MCS did have this, and I'm wondering whether this is something that can be easily programmed. I went to MINI of Universal City and they wanted $165 just to figure out if my car could do it. I'm pretty sure it can, just don't know how.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I have a Bavariantechnic OBD cable if that helps with anything, since i know NCS can be used to program such things.

i'd really like to know that also, I dont want to go to the dealer to have them program options on my 6 year old car, they try to rape me i'm sure. plus I dont want to risk my custom programming from RMW... speaking of which, Jan might know the answer to this.

As far as I know, they won't ruin your tune from Jan. I have the same issue, lol. I want my daytime always on headlights turned off. The only reason I haven't done it is because I have a tune from Jan also.

Jan always keeps your tune in his laptop so he can reprogram if needed. You will have to buy his remote tune device though unless you happen to catch up with him somewhere.

If you get a dealer to program your options, just let them know that you don't want your ECU flashed.

i actually called a local dealer, they want almost $200 to do it, and I mentioned the custom tune, and the guy said, "I wouldnt risk it"... apparently even you tell them not to flash the ECU, they can still somehow lose your tune... I should get the programmer from jan, I found race gas nearby

Make sure the race gas is unleaded. A lot of race gas is leaded and will foul out your O2 sensors.

LOL @ dealer prices.

Yes you can add convenience opening from the unlock button on remote BUT it has to be done either at a dealer or someone who has SSS and the proper cable.

I can do it but I doubt you're anywhere near me.

I can change any programmable features on your car.

To whoever asked if the Bav cable / software will do it, NO it will not.
