Probably you should get that extended harness they sell. It just plugs in, and has much beefier wires.

I would not use anything over the stock bulb without creating a new harness for it. Even then, adding more light won't help too much as these lights seem to suck. I got tired of mine in a few months of owning it and added HIDs in projectors.

Don't forget that a higher wattage creates more heat and this could damage your reflectors or clear lenses...melting or distorting them. Look for the highest "k" factor. Above 4,100K there is no difference in light as then color make the lights actually dimmer. These are then primarily for show. Stay with the same watt just a higher temperature degree up to a maximum of 4800K.

What you are looking for is the "lumens" of the bulb not the wattage to attain brighter light.

So the lights I wanna get say they are 7000k color and 55w would this work? I just wanted to change the color a bit. I like the blue look of xenons. So I was looking at arctic white nokyas since I have the hyper yellow fogs and driving lights from nokya.

For what it's worth, factory on Audi HID is only 4300K

One of the early larger volume Euro HID's (H2S bulbs in that case) people seem to have associated w the slightly blue color. Own a 2000 with factory HID's.

Agreed w/ other posters as you push much above this K point, lumens likely to drop off a lot. And FWIW, when I see a car throwing obviously blue or purple light down to the ground I tend to just shake my head, knowing its really a performance reducing counterfeit look and definitely not the real deal.
