Remove cig lighter socket?

I'd like to gain access to the bottom of the lighter socket. Is it possible to remove the socket without removing the console. On my old Miata, the socket just snapped into the dash and could be easily removed.

Yes just get a hold of the orange part and pull. Be careful though you can break the orange part pretty easly but the good thing is it is only like a dollar to get a new one. Oh and one more thing when you disconnect the lighter don't let go of the wire it can slide back down ther and be a pain to get back out.

Thanks, apparently I was being a little too timid in my efforts. A strong steady pull using a wire hook inserted into the socket and it popped right out without damaging the orange collar.
