There is currently an app available for android, iPhone and blackberry called Viper that you can use to lock/unlock, remote start, turn the alarm on/off and release the trunk. It requires installation of their system to actually work, which runs about $500, plus the $30/month to use it. Right now, I'm just full of wishful thinking, but has anyone tried a DIY mod that is similar? I have the idea but no clue how it would actually be done, but I would love to be able to out the top dwn or up in a similar manner. I'm not expecting anyone to be able to come up with an answer, but does anybody else have some brainstorming ideas on this topic?

 

There's a monthly fee? That makes me think they can do it all remotely like onstar and if thats the case then the app probably goes through them via internet.
You could surely build something to use bluetooth or 802.11 on your own though.

 

Just a quick note...I think you should recheck the monthly fee thing. I think it is actually $29.99 per year. That makes it far more reasonable.

 

My bad! Per year makes a lot more sense. But I still like doing things myself, incompetent as I am haha
