Electrical AutoMeter shift light?

AutoMeter shift light?
Ok so I want a BIG honkin shift light, I know they are kind of anoying but, I have had them before and kinda like the blast of light in my face when I miss a gear.
Plus it is FREE I have had one sitting around since my last Honda blew up in 2005.
I know I will need to controll it with a RPM activated switch(I'm not installing the 5" tach that it originaly went with)but... I dont know what wire to hook up to the tach sensor to controll the switch?
Any help?
