Electrical Exterior Bulbs
Exterior Bulbs
Before anyone jumps on me, I've read through dozens of postings today going over different information and what others have done.
I have a 2006 Cooper S JCW with HID lights. I want to replace the fog lights and running lights to a brighter bulb to better match the HID's and replace my front turn signals to get rid of the egg yolk.
I know the fog lights are an H11, the running lights are 194, and the front turn signals are 7507.
There seems to be a lot of different opinions on which are the best bulb replacements.
For the running lights I was considering the "194 5LED Matrix Bulbs" from Autoluminations.com. I know some have had an issue with fitting certain LED bulbs into this space, is this one of the bulbs that will not fit? There isn't a note on this bulb saying that it is bigger than a stock bulb so I'm not sure if it will fit. Does anyone else have any suggestions for the running lights? If possible I prefer LED so I don't have blue reflections from tinted bulbs.
Front turn signals seem pretty easy to find. Either the Titanium or Platinum Chrome Bulbs from Autoluminations.com (not sure what the difference between them is other than the price), or Stealth Bulbs, or Solaris Bulbs. Anyone have a preference?
The H11's for the fog lights I'm not sure of. I want them to match the HID's as much as possible but there are a lot of different options. Who does everyone think makes the best "xenon matching" bulbs? I've heard mixed reviews on Hoen bulbs. But then again, almost all manufacturers get mixed reviews.
I'd also like the bulbs to have a decent life (as reported by peoples' experience). I understand this can be hit and miss.
Thanks to everyone in advance and Happy Holidays!

I've tested that type of bulb not in the running lights but in the side fender indicator lights. That type of LED bulb is very feeble and dim. In the running lights you'll have to get the very brightest LEDs to even approach the brightness of the stock filament bulbs. If you want a whiter light but don't want blue reflections, I've seen stealth blue tinted bulbs with silver coating.
Previous MCS I got PIAA Super White for fogs and dealer had the oem run lights to match HIDs and dealer also had aftermarket eggyolk replacement forgot brand. You could also replace high beams with 65w, 85w or even 100w the later with precautionary measures.
Well I found some cool bulbs on Autolumination.com that RKW was referring to. Chrome plated blue tint 194 bulbs. Only $2.99 each so I'll give them a shot. I'm also going to try out the Titanium chrome signal bulbs.
Does anyone have any experience with their fog light bulbs? I'm looking at the H11 of Autolumination Super White bulbs (5.5K-6K). I know that I should be looking at something around 4K from what I've ready but these are supposed to be xenon matching. But with how much of a pain switching the fog light bulbs are I don't want to deal with changing it a bunch of times. Anyone tried them out?

Ive got 6K HID upgrade bulbs in the head lights and a 6K HID conversion kit on the fogs, match is dead on. Sometimes super white bulbs, especially name brand like Piaa can be pretty pricey. I found a 6K HID kit on ebay for about $50, Im running BMW error free resistors with the kit and everything looks great.
Technically, yes, as are the lights within the turn signals that are on with the headlights or parking lights. Since the trim lights and front turn signals were already amber or blinked amber, I replaced the other bulb within the turn signals to be amber when turned on with the headlights.
The running lights (also known as parking lights) are what turn on with the light switch in the first position. They stay on when you turn on the headlights. They include the rear lights and lights in the front bumper, and the marker lights at the wheel arches.
Can anyone tell me what is the cheapest way to get the lights I need when I take out the "yolk" in the front light. The only thing I have found was some Silversteins and they were $30!! I need to know what part number, price, and where to purchase them at...please help!!!
