Missing sun roof toggle

There was some talk about this in another thread, but nobody has actually done it. Is there anyone out there who has added the missing sun roof toggle even though they do not have a sun roof?

I know how to get to it, but before I try I wanted to know if it is just a matter of adding the toggle like it was on the center stack for the rear fog light, or are the attachment points missing since the sun roof is not there?

I know this could be considered "over kill", but what the heck.

I posted this in the wrong forum before, Sorry.

The same talk is going on about the missing switch for the rear fog lights.

That mod is easy and been covered very well here before. I did it last week and it was no problem. There is even a u-tube showing how to do it. I have never seen anything on the missing sun roof toggle.

I agree that it could very well be over kill, but why is everyone so worried about the missing rear fog toggle, but don't mind the missing sun roof toggle?? An incomplete switch bank is an incomplete switch bank, be it in the center stack or the overhead.

Actually the answer to your question is in the other thread where you asked about it. Here is the post.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...2-post102.html

If you can give me until Saturday or Sunday I will have my main computer back up an running after a major crash and I will be able to provide you with the part numbers you need to purchase to put the switch in.

or you could go to real oem here to find the parts

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...00&hg=61&fg=35

From this it tells us you will need the following:

#3 Operating Unit for Roof w/light package and glass roof
P/N 61313422626

that item has all the switches built in so it is the only thing you should need. Although it will probably be rather expensive as it has all the parts (toggles etc) included.

Thanks for the thoughts, but I have decided not to go there.
