I think you're misunderstanding my use of novelty. I mean novelty in the sense of not having previously encountered the Corvette. I encounter them on the daily basis. I remember living in St. Louis, I used to see a Vette when I was a kid and be like "whoa! that's awesome!" That's because it was novel. Corvettes aren't so novel to me anymore. So outside of the occasional sting ray, I'm not really all that impressed. It's kind of how the guys on Top Gear have the whole love hate thing with MINI's.
