You will have to take the car to the dealer and have them reset the warning lights.
If you ever remove the seat again disconnect the battery first and the disconnect the air bags connectors. But make sure you connect them back up before connecting the battery as this is the only way to keep the lights from having to be reset.

you could reset it yourself with a tool.

Second unit will do it only if you purchase the advance control module and then only if they have the software to do it and they do not state if that they can do if for a Mini or BMW. And infact they state that some cars do not even need a ODBII to reset some of this stuff now usch as the 2001+ BMW's
As for the third link the only thin i see in there is a sticker that goes over the light and that is very dangerous.
As for the Air bags in the car. As long as that light is on the system is disable completely so there will be no deployment of airbags.
This si somthing that for the asfety of all persons riding in the car should be looked at by the dealer and tested by teh dealer or another facility that can give you a garuntee that the system is functioning propely.
Before you go to the dealer you might want to try the service reset procedure.I'm not sure about the airbag light but all the other lights can be reset using this method so my guess is this is how the dealer does it.Here's the instructions.http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...ice_indicators
there are posts here of other users of the first tool getting it to reset the light and clear the airbag code. $80 tool beats a $120 for dealer visit to reset the light in my opinion.
the second tool, the autoenginuity enhanced will reset the airbag light.
the third reference post had more info than just the silly sticker.
I agree safety is an issue, and it should get fixed, just there are more options than just going to the dealer, which for some of us is very far away, the BMW dealers will charge even more. also, one faulty airbag code will not necessarily disable All of the airbags.

and about the b200 working to rest the airbag codes:

either way, its not a free fix.
