Backup Light Not Working

I am working on a 2002 Mini Cooper and the backup light is not working. I have replaced the bulb twice and still doesn't work. Can anyone tell me which fuse is for the backup light? The owner's manual and picture guide on fuse access cover is not clear on this. Your help is appreciated!!!

It's the back up switch on the transmission.

If you still want the fuse location it's number 13 in the side of the driver's foot well. It does sound like the reverse switch on the trans is your problem. Automatic trans has it located on top of the trans, below the air filter box and six-speeds have it located on the aft side of the trans, still below the air filter box. Don't follow the stupid instructions in the repair manual to remove the filter box to get at it. Just remove the left front wheel and you can reach it easily.

Thanks for the fuse number. It was the switch and I replaced it last weekend. I found the switch right where you said it was. An easier fix for the mini after you find the right size socket/wrench to loosen it. A 7/8" open end wrench worked great since I did not have a metric wrench big enough for it.
