Electrical Diagram site!

This need to be set as a sticky in this forum! Bob posted this web address on another thread ("What fuse should I tap in an R56?") that I just found. It's a site that contains the electrical diagrams for MINIs! It requires the use of Internet Explorer (I normally use firefox and had problems) with an extension from Adobe called SVG.

http://www.mcaw.info/wds/mini/us/r56/index.htm

I didn't go exploring there but it looked like it might have 1st Generation diagrams as well. It takes a couple of hours to get used to but well worth the time if you want to make electrical mods to your MINI!

Thanks Bob! (aka K6rtm)

Yep, it's been floating around the site for a while now. Sticky is a good idea.

Or better yet, you can download the entire archive of the site if you navigate back on the web address a bit. The server has the zip file there too. Then you can run it locally on your system without a net connection.

Only problem is, we the general public are not supposed to have access to it. Only dealer and authorized repair stations. SO making it a sticky puts it out there to be seen that much easier and could possibly get it protected more than it is .

SO i would say No on the sticky part but do make a bookmark to it.

Pssst.

Consider the availability of this site as a 'gift of goof'. Use it sparingly and dont post it everywhere. As the above poster has stated, it was not meant for the general population, and proliferating access and downloading the entire contents will cause it to be locked down by the site operators. It wont be made sticky as a result.

Good thinking guys. Although if you go to the main part of the address, you sure aren't at a BMW service site. I'll stick to the downloaded version.
