Electrical O2 simulator How-To

O2 simulator How-To
OK. Searched but came up with nothing.
I am aware of what an o2 simulator does, but am not certain as to how it is installed.
I was looking at this one:
http://www.o2simulator.com/index.php...&products_id=8
I have a Random Technologies Cat, that had kept code free for a little while, but since winter, it keeps throwing the efficiency code, everytime I clear it. Rather than go through expense of getting a new cat and weld it in, I think I ready to try the o2 sim.
I've never actually seen one installed, so I am not certain as to what the deal is. It's a tiny box with wires in the pic, so I'm guessing it plugs into where the exisiting o2 sensor is?
Anyone help me out with a bit of knowledge please???

you have a PM...
However...
www.o2simulator.com
Easy to install...
This is nothing but a bypass so you leave your o2 sensor?! right where it is!

An 02 simulator is nothing more than a ceramic resistor to make the heater circuit complete and show resistance and a cap or resistor across the measurement so it looks like it is reading something in the right voltage range on the sensor circuit.
they did work on older narrowband rear o2, cause I used one on my DSM after I broke the rear o2 off. Once upon a time narrowband we’re significantly cheaper and those were issued 8n the rear cat working YES/NO position.
they generally don’t work on wideband 02 which most cars post 2000 have aft of the cat.
Before you go trying a bunch of fixes, have you tried a new/ known working rear o2. They do fail both on the heater circuit and the measuring circuit and both will throw a code. If you know your o2 is fine, ie tried it in a different car, tried a different on on your car, then you can proceed to things like the right angle spark plug anti fouler, or right angle relocation with mini cat.
