UPDATE: if you're willing to accept the responsibility of a (non-OEM) electrical mod for your '07+ R56 windows: take a look at thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...r-the-r56.html ...

Interesting...I just bought my '07 with 18k on it and brought it in to the dealer for a few minor things. As long as I was there, I mentioned everything I thought may have been malfunctioning just in case it was. One of those items was the windows not going up automatically, which the dealer said wasn't working right and they ordered new modules.

I'll be interested to see if that works after the new ones are installed or if they're mistaken...hopefully they'll screw up and order the '08 model

hope you're right and they can set you up ... but suspect that your service rep will "get educated" by somebody up the line, and will have less-than-good-news for you when it's time to do the work --

My service rep is a personal friend of mine, but I suspect that the technician will "get educated" and if he doesn't, I suspect that he will have ordered the parts using the VIN in which case I'm sure he ordered '07 parts and will end up replacing something that isn't even broken.

I'm torn because I'd like the '08 part so they auto-up, but by the same token if it won't be the '08 part I don't want them taking apart / replacing things that aren't broken...so I'm not sure if I should call their attention to this info.

My dealer ordered the parts over a month ago and they're on eternal backorder due to people having issues with their windows not closing all the way when the door is closed...so the wait continues :(
