Electrical GBMINI is da Man
GBMINI is da Man
I wanted to install an old-fashioned (kinda) Oogah Horn but was searching for just the right switch. About the same time I acquired an extra toggle to fill in the blank in my toggle bank (rear fogs). Fortuitously I stumbled across a thread where someone used Ian's AutoUp circuit to drive his OEM driving lights. I inquired and Ian told me that the garage door opener option could probably drive a relay for my horn. I sent mine back, he added the opto chip and pigtail, and reprogrammed the card to have the rear fog toggle trigger 12v across the pigtail. Got it back in 2 days, installed it last weekend...and it works like a champ.
. Just run the pigtail to the relay pins 85 & 86 and voila!
Not only does it sound fun (Mr "BMW" must be rolling over in his grave) but it's controlled by an OEM toggle. So Cool!
Thanks Ian!

Without pics (ok, sound clip) it didn't happen.
Ian is indeed DA MAN! Years ago I ordered three different AUCs with three different parameters. He got them all done, right, and threw in an additional level of QC to make sure of it.
I still need to get to the east coast to buy him a beer.

I don't have a way to post audio or video. My son's camera will but for some bizarre reason it won't connect to a computer for file transfer. S/W Bug of some kind.
I'll try to get a club member to get a clip at a hoo-haw sometime...
