Frank,

I certainly understand. I have done a fair amount of mods over the years but when that drill bit hit my $34K sheet metal I still flinched!!

I enjoy being able to see that the area behind the car is clear before backing up. Good luck!

I finally hit the 1000 mile mark today as I have been out of town for some of the month that I have had the MINI. This car is just too much fun. What goodies/color did you get?

Doug

Agreed - the car is way too much fun. Only two complaints - rear viz - and somewhat choppy ride on oversized runflats. Got the S model with brit mirror flags, viper stripes, driving lights, limited slip differential... that's about it.

I am pleased with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus non run flats that I put on the car. The ride is much more supple but handling and turn in is still very tight and crisp. These tires aren't cheap ($180) but have a 45k mile prorated warranty if I rotate and balance every 7500 miles. I had the dealer remove the Dunlop runflats before I took delivery of the car.

Happy Motoring!

Doug

You are right ......it is not for the faint of heart. I carry a Conti Comfort Kit at all times that includes a compressor and some sealant for emergencies. I plan on getting a mini spare to throw in the back should I take the MINI on longer trips from home - but haven't done that yet.

I ran over a sheathing nail (the ones with the bright orange plastic washer that perfectly position the nail for maximum "success" in puncturing a tire) before I even hit 1,000 miles but the tire did not lose air and I was able to get it repaired.

Yeah - I may not have the cash or bravery right now to ditch these runflats.

ps - forgot to mention mine also has the armrest, Tuscan Leather and 17" wheels (black bullet).

Ah, another Tuscan fan. I have always preferred the Sand interior on BMW's that I have owned and the Tuscan Beige is similar. I like the lighter interior it provides - particularly with the "cave like" backseat of these convertibles.

What color is your exterior?

I know this thread is old but I hope someone sees this and can answer...can I install a rear camera and wire it up to my Mini Connect screen? If so, what type of connector does the Mini Connect require?
