MSD Ignition Coil set?

So I've got custom intake and the Alta v2.0 15% pulley, giving me 184hp. Come tax returns, I'll be getting the Alta Stealth exhaust. I'm thinking of what mods would be my best bang for my buck next.

Does the MSD Ignition Coil set really make a noticeable improvement? When I got that pulley slapped on, it was a completely different car.

A coil is not going to make that kinda difference, but it's good to know yer getting "true" spark with a proper set of plugs, coils and wires.

I run the MSD coil and wires. It's the only way to go IMO. You can get them off summit racing pretty cheap. I would run NGK IK22s in a heat range of 7 for yer mods. TQed to 24 ft lbs with anti seize on them before they go in

Well I'll be entering SCCA's Auto-X events that come around here twice a month, so would those help out much to be worth the money? Definitely should get those springs tho...

The coil probably will not help out much at your mod level. The stock coil has been proven to be a very reliable product..............but that red sure does look nice under my hood!

New plugs would be a good investment. I would suggest the NGK JCW plugs. You can get the BKR7EQUP at several online sites for around $8 each.

LOL all those "JCW" plugs are is the IK22s I recommended... great minds and all that...

and yeah I agree, I can 350 WHP with my stock coil and wires, so it's not nessisary... and is looks nice! LOL

I was running those Iridium's but I noticed that the center electrode was wearing kinda fast. Heard good things about the 4 prong ones and have been happy with them.

yeah they tend to wear out, it's relative to detonation and octane....

honestly in the end, they are prolly both just as good for 99% of our usage... :D

as much as we all would like to be racer X... we are more like ricky racer... even with 400 WHP LOL I do not have a dedicated race MINI that I am campaigning across the states

Like I said in my first suggestion, for piece of mind... get the good stuff... it's cheap on Summit Racing.... and every little bit adds up in the long run... that's my opinion... if I am going to spend $ I spend it on good stuff... buy cheap buy twice....

I personally dont like the four prong... but I have no doubt they will do just fine... and they are "JCW" certified...

so pick the ones you think are pretty... at the end of the day that's all that's gunnah matter till you are looking for tenths of a second in a race...
