Electrical Back-up Camera Wiring
You realize it will only work when your plate lights are turned on right? If you use daytime running lights it would work I suppose.
I could also run the camera wire to an ignition constant on source, but if I'm doing that, I should have gotten a wired camera.
Of course, the camera could burst into flames after a long road trip.
I do use DRLs. I was thinking to turn the monitor on or off when I needed it. The monitor apparently randomly flickers with stray security camera signals when the camera is not powered. It would be easier to install as well due to proximity. There would also be no delay for the camera and wireless signal to work.

You are right, with the monitor on all the time it picks up all kinds of interference and even some security cameras.
You could find a wire in the dash that would switch on the monitor when you put the car in reverse. I did this on my truck. Most stereo shops can look up the wiring charts and tell you where to tap into. I wired the camera into the reverse lights, and the monitor hooked up behind the dash, on the same signal that goes to the back of the truck to turn on the reverse lights. They turn on together this way.

Just installed my wireless back-up camera. I'll post pictures and details later, but one thing is bugging me.
The picture is pretty clear except for a constant 4 lines of interference that appears after a second or so of image once I shift into reverse. I tapped the reverse light wires. Interestingly, they go away when I actively turn the steering wheel. Guess turning the wheel draws power in the system and does something to lessen the interference. Maybe it strengthens the camera's wireless transmission? Or maybe it decreases the video receiver's interference?
It would be nice if there was a way to keep the image clear. Moving the monitor closer to the camera interestingly does not improve the image.
Any thoughts?

After looking into "alternator noise" and "noise filters" and trying different grounding points, I just tried running the camera power line to the fusebox. No more constant 4 horizontal lines of interference when the engine is on! Guess the right reverse lamp power wire gets too much noise interference from the engine/alternator/fuel pump/who knows?
So much for wireless camera, though, since I ran the wire up to the front anyway.
