When I bought my signal bulbs from the powerbulbs website, they threw in a pair of philips side markers bulbs (size w5w). They blinked white but have like a blue coating on the bulb. I didn't really like the look after installation as my cooper is pepper white with white/clear markers but the bulbs gave it a slight blue hue. It really stood out from the side view. So basicly I traded the yellow/amber hue for a different color.

Since I swapped out a bunch of my interior bulbs for LEDs, I had a whole bunch of size w5w bulbs handy. Only difference was that these bulbs are clear, so no tinted color glass. I popped these in for the side markers and got the exact look I was going for. No hue of any color when looking at the side marker, just the white/clear lens and no other color coming from behind it.

Just FYI if someone was considering LED interior mods and clear signal indicators

I'm in agreement that the white lenses and stock bulbs still emit a yellow hue when off; In my state I can run white front turn signals and red rears; I'd settle for the shown chromium style bulbs for the front but are there any red bulbs for the rear that would look red when off like the stock show amber?; Thanks

I headed to Auto Zone to buy some chrome bulbs for my side markers, but no luck. I thought about buying from the internet but so tired of the waiting. I decided to buy an eight dollar can of high heat engine paint. About two hours later I had the exact look I wanted and can now do as many bulbs as I want for the same eight bucks...Thanks to aus for the original DIY tip.

Hi, I am trying to order the same lights as the OP, but the powerbulbs link does not work anymore and the Hoen website completely confuses me on what I need to order. Also the motorbulbs website seems to have disappeared. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone found a stealth bulb that is just as bright as OEM? I bought some chrome bulbs and when compared to the stock bulb it was not as bright. I love the look but do not want to sacrifice safety.

I don't think it is possible unless they go with higher wattage or you go LED. I found a 13 watt LED which should be several times brighter than the stock incandescent bulb. When they are on they are Amber, when off they are white, so the stealth aspect will be retained. I will need to add a load resistor to keep the flashrate and bulbout warnings at bay. I started another thread on LED turnsignals. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them installed. Also if this works as well as I anticipate the brake lights are next.

sorry if this is the wrong thread for this post,

I have white lenses (from factory). I'd like to tint my white side scuttle lights to a dark tinted look. I"ve seen them for sale at "OutMotoring.com". Yet I don't care to spend $40+ for tinted lenses. Curious if anyone has any tips on how to tint the side scuttle lights? -I am not sure if they sell this, but years ago they used to sell a spray on window tint. The stuff was total crap for tinting your windows, yet I think that for a small area like the scuttle lenses it may just do the trick ...yet not sure if they still sell the spray on tint as it was a pretty bad product.

Spray on tint will work fine for the side scuttles. Or you can just by pre-cut sheets.

Thanks Sketch,

-so they still sell spray on tint? -I remember a friend using that to tint his windows back in the late 80's ...it looked really really bad.

Will pre-cut sheets flex to the concave shape? ..and I assume I spray and/or tint on the inside of the lens? -won't get too hot under there?

Spray tint will not work b/c the surface is curved. it will run into the corners from gravity and not cover it properly.

I believe you are thinking about VHT Night Shades.

those are the right sizes for the side markers and the bulbs above the fog lights (aka: city lights).

I was trying to figure out what bulbs he has which are silver coated.

I found these from another post:
http://www.xenonmods.com/

Anyone had luck with these bulbs? Do they last?

I was going to buy these, because I thought my blue car would look nice with some blue-iridescent-ish lights under the clear lenses. http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=102

But I want the side markers to have the same blue-iridescent look too. Does anyone know if these are the same blue-iridescent outer coating? (And correct bulb size?) http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=128 Or do those not blink amber? I'm confused!

Do those glow amber or white? Let us know how that install went. Take some pics if you can.

So I attempted this today and ordered these Orsam Diadem bulbs (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=102)... but they DO NOT FIT. The pins are not in the correct place! Now I'm out $15 with bulbs I don't know what to do with... and am driving around with a car with illegal turn signals...

Trying to find another set similar (or chrome) with the right offset.

Other places I'm seeing that a car with Orange lens comes with straight pins and the clear lens cars have the offset pins. If this is the case, I could maybe find a replacement socket from a white signal lens car...? Trying to decipher this... part 4? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...68&hg=63&fg=05

Can anyone help?!

Are you talking about the Osram Diadem PY21W ? because it is the right piece for the front turn signal...

I got mine from Ebay, front turn signal here and side ones here.

Those are the bulbs I got. I'm guessing you had the white turn signal package to begin with. I had clear lights and an orange lens.

I need 7506 bulbs for the 180 degree pins.
I contacted the dealer and he think he can order me the socket that comes on the white turn signal package with the offset pins.

Then if you need 7506, it is the exact same one as the rear would be too... check out the seller I mentioned earlier, he has them too. HERE

Are the front and rear turns diff bulb/socket in white package because the owners manual states front PY 21 W /rear P 21 W which is front 7507 140deg offset /rear 7506,1156 180deg offset.

Talked to the Parts guy at MINI of Ontario and he was able to order this socket (the one that came on the white turn signal package) for me for $19 shipped. I think it should fix the problem so I can use the bulbs I already purchased.
