MCS Battery Replacement

Does anyone know where to buy a OEM MCS battery other than the dealer or has anyone used a 3rd party battery and if so, what kind. Thanks

I'm using an Optima Red Top group 35. It isn't a perfect match dimension-wise but it fits without issues. The terminals are even on the right sides. The Optima is sealed so you don't have to worry about the vent tube.

I've read of some others using an Interstate battery that is the same group size as the stock MINI one (group 47, I believe). Supposedly, you can get an adapter for the Interstate that adapts it's vent to the stock tube. I couldn't find this adapter locally (none of the Interstate suppliers even knew of such a thing) so I went with the Optima.

The Optima Red top 34R is an exact replacement. Works great too.
