I would like to have my car detailed, inside and out. I want to start doing it myself, but would feel better the first time having a pro do it. Any recommendations on places in Iowa or Omaha? I am located in Urbandale, but am willing to motor to get the right detailer.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help to you way up here on the Iowa tundra. Not sure what is available in your area. Maybe some of the other locals will have some suggestions.

Plus, I find it rather therapeutic to spend lots of quality time doing my own detailing. It's one of the symptoms of having OCMD...

 

Hey, I have visited the Iowundra, and it is lovely for at least 3 or 4 months of the year!

I want to start doing it myself, but I think starting with a clean slate will be easier for a noob like myself.

I do my own also, there is a detailing supply business in Urbandale -- go here stop by and see them, I'm sure they can recommend a good detailer. There products are excellent and most are formulated in house. Great stuff

Atomic - they do detailing on the premises, but to do my whole MINI would be $400 - $500, maybe a little more. I know I am new to this, but does this strike anyone as a bit high?

Seems a little high to me. Maybe stop by there and talk to them plus let them know how small your car is maybe they will cut you a break. I know there is a pretty good detail shop in Dubuque but there has to be something in Des Moines that does quality work for a fair price.

 

Ok so I did the math wrong, the full detail would be 600 bucks plus tax!!!!!!

 

I think you need to look around, I wouldn't pay more thea $150.00 tops
