Hi...I would like to buy an air intake for my MCS but I don't know which one to choose between the Rogue and the Alta...They're almost the same price but it seems that the Alta is harder to install than the Rogue? Do the HP gains and noise are almost the same ?
SO in conclusion, which one do I have to buy ?

I've seen no dyno proof that the Alta makes more power than the Madness/Rogue unit (seems about equal), and the M/R is easier to install and cheaper than the Alta, not to mention has a larger cotton vs smaller foam filter.

I think it was Andy who gave the first real report on the Alta and I remember him commenting that it was quite loud. I'll probably go for the M/R for that reason.

I just installed the Alta CAI yesterday, and I cannot praise it enough. If you're concerned about sound, it definitely is louder, especially at WOT, but under normal driving situations, you only notice a little bit more of the supercharger whine.
I read all of Andy's install problems, but on my July '02 build MCS, the install went as smoothly as I could have imagined. All the new parts went in smooth and fit great, and I'm no experienced installer either. It took me 2 hours, taking my time, with no surprises whatsoever. Andy's problems seem to be unique to his car.

I highly recommend it! Better throttle response and a very noticeable increase in top end power. And the people at Alta are great.
I'm not one of those dyno guys, so I can't provide those results, but my senses tell me that it's well worth it.

Now that the ALTA has been modified to fit my car, it works great and contributed to excellent dyno results I have had. I still plan to do back to back dyno testing with the ALTA and the stock airbox. I'm also going to test some different filters with the ALTA intake to see if those make a difference in performance.
