I got Helixed again :)

So ever since getting back into Mini's I wanted to upgrade the performance and looks of my MINI. Being in the midwest there are not as many tuners as I would like and the Helix crew has never done me wrong. So i saved my Pennies (Eric watch your mail for a shipment from me) and made the pilgramage to Beautiful North Philly to the World Renowned Helix Minisports (right net to Yards brewery).

Now I made Eric show up on a Saturday for some Donuts, fun and Moding my Mini

As Eric sent me of to get the Donuts and coffee at the Famed Dunkin Donuts. I was able to test out the Newest R56 Mini. All I can say is Wow. Aside from a few styling woes (center console, Chrome Bling S, and J lo Booty rear end) the car is very nice. I staired at it all day and started to really like it (I am eating my words regarding my earlier r56 posts). The fit and finish far surpass the R53 and the perfromance and handling are Awesome.

Well After having our breakfast and Eric abusing his donut by dropping powder and jelly on the floor we got to work.

First we added some H sport springs, H sport rear sway bar and control arms. This brought my mini closer to the ground and gave me corner carving I need on my backroads comute to work.

Then we upped the power with a 17% (white powder coated) pulley, Helix 380cc injectors, and a Giac tune.

Let me tell you the car is now a WOLF (sooner to bear some sheep’s clothing). The power comes on down low and traction is non existent in first with a heavy foot. The car pulls hard and effortlessly in all gears (and I don’t have exhaust yet). I would recommend this set up to anyone. I would highly recommend that if you are going to modify you mini you take the trip to Helix. Eric is one of the most knowledgeable Mini guys out there and if not the most knowledgeable on the east coast. I would trust him to do anything to my car. He likes to get to know his customers and the plans for their cars before selling them anything. Honesty and trust go a long way in my book. I have been dealing with Helix since there inception when they had one lift, a dyno and no bathroom. Eric and his crew are the reason I will be a Helix customer for Life
