For those of you who have an oil temp gauge installed, do the temperatures go scary-hot if you are driving hard? (stock or modded) Just wondering if anyone on here can comment about that. Looking to get a gauge myself in 2004 anyway.

Oil temp

I have a set of Autometer gauges in my MCS, including oil temperature and pressure. Regular driving (moderately aggressive) gives oil temps of 240-270 deg. F, while track driving buries the needle at 300 deg. F. This shouldn't be a problem with the Mobil-1 synthetic. However, I'm looking forward to the oil cooler that should be available fairly soon from one of NAM's sponsors .

You should be able to get any generic oil cooler installed without an issue, however mounting may be an issue.

With the cartrige filter, it is an issue regarding the oil cooler. That is why we are developing a replacement plate for the OEM Oil Cooler, and a front mount Location. We have the new final version of the radiator in, just are finishing up the plumbing.

I regularly have temps at about 200-212 and on the track it went up to 270-280 with redline 5-30. I spoke with Don at DMH and he said this is too hot. Any experiences with oil temp on the track? What do you normally see?

Way OT Cause I don't even have an oil temp gauge, but nice to see some local NAM members! I live in Woodland Hills like 3 miles from you . You should come to one of these sunday meets that SCMM hosts on the last sunday of the month.
