Air filter question?

I have the alta CAI and am very happy with it , but I see some of the members have their air filters put directly on the throttle body. Does this make the supercharger whine louder like M7's AGS? Or does it make no difference?

My best recomendation is to do a search on hot air intakes (HAI). It's mor done for a performance stand point, alot of good information in the threads

I think you should keep your Alta CAI rather than going HAI...

While the HAI looks good, the Alta CAI provides cold air and has proven to be very effective.

First i agree - lits out there under HAI.

From my readings is that in theory the HAI trades or sacrifies warmer air for faster throttle response. I say in theory because at speed it is questionable if the HAI air is materially warmer over a CAI from a performance perspective.

The good news - its a low enough investment to try for yourself. Buy a filter pop it on and you tell us what you think.
