fficer: "do you know why i pulled you over?"
me: "was it cuz i was doing 50 in a school zone?"
officer: "nope, its because i can tell by the sound of your supercharger you have an aftermarket pulley, which we all know is illegal in the great state of california!"

oh no officer, that's because of my illegal intake and exhaust!

Does the fifth commandment of NAM apply to discussing non-CARB certified aftermarket parts illegally installed on vehicles registered in California?

FWIW, I bought my 2005 MCS here from a NAM member with an M7 Pulley and Alta Intake already in place. Since the car was from Wisconsin, I had to have it smogged before I could register it here in Los Angeles. Of course there was a Smog shop across the street from the DMV, so I drove there, and it passed the Visual and other tests with flying colors. There's a thread on this discussion along with some enlightening figures out just how much the mods haven't affected emissions in a negative way thanks to a guy here on NAM that could read the report I got from the smog place.

I'd say, don't worry so much about these things--it seems Alta is just trying to cover their butt from a legal stand point.

I saw speeding mentioned and posted to remind everyone about the Site Guidelines.

Thanks for your support.
