Drivetrain Exhaust idea-crazy?
I'll be waiting. I for one, am a lot more impressed with good fabwork rather than how shiny a header looks. I'll PM you with some questions so as to stop high-jacking this thread.
Kentiki, I'm with Rick on this one, do it once RIGHT and be done with it. I've learned that the hard way unfortunately... You could put a dump right before the battery box... Good luck and post pics when you're done...

You mean a collector like this? This is the start of a custom header that is perfectly matched to the flow of the new head and custom cam (with adjustable cam gear)thats going on my car very soon.

I'm using one of these.
Its a slip on, but I will be welding it on.
If I decide to keep my car for a while longer, I have cam specs at Crower, ready to go, I just need to send them my cam.

Yeah, one less thing to have ceramic coated once the thing's done.
Yours looks more like a stock car part to me, or something thats supposed to dump right there and not run into a system.

They are designed to increase TQ. Burns makes the best but very $$$$.
Thats 3" at the end. The rest will be 3" all the way back. It exits using a cooper rear valence on the right side.

How about this idea?
I want to get as close to a straight exhaust as possible without removing the battery box. Instead of a one-ball then, how about a full castration?

What if I removed everything in red--resonator, muffler and associated connections?
Then, where the pipe leaves off, connect a muffler and exit at the passeger side like the Cooper?:

It seems that since the muffler and tip (black area) would occupy the space left by the resonator, that there must be a way to hang/mount the aftermarket muffler and tip more easily than if no exhaust parts had been there in the stock config.
Just think of the bends, twists, and turns that could be eliminated! The stock exhaust makes about 360 deg worth of turns! And there would be some weight savings.
As for the cosmetics, I was thinking a Cooper rear bumper trim piece would have an opening for the tip in about the right place, more or less.
I stole the original photo for this from a one-ball thread.--Sorry I forgot who posted it.
What'dya think?
