Drivetrain Cooling Mist Boot Mount Water / Meth injection kit
Quick question--- approx. how many miles (average) would a 1.5 gallon tank last under semi-spirited driving conditions? Is this something I would have to fill up every day, or maybe with every tank of gas? Most of my driving is around-town and freeway miles...except for track days.
I just filled up the gas tank, both the methanol tank and the gas tank were full when I started. The Methanol tank took a gallon to fill back up. I also had mine set to come on at 8psi and I spent all week going out of my way to make it turn on. Driving normally, you probaly will get a 1:2 ratio (ie. 1 tank of methanol/water to 2 tanks of gas.)
You also can just run plain ole water through it if you arent tuned for meth. You will still pickup some performance aspects because of running less timing advance.
I did find that mine was splashing water out of the vent. What I ended up doing fixed the problem:

Basically what I did:
Took the lid off the Methanol tank.
Tapped a 1/8 NPT nipple and installed it in the lid.
Drilled a hole under the bottom edge of the rear panel cover.
Inserted a grommit.
Purchased a cheap one man brake bleeding kit. Removed the hose from the inside.
Mounted it via its magnetic holder.
Ran a hose from the tank to the bleeding kit.
So basically I have allowed excess water to travel up the tube (and spill over into the catch can (aka as one man brake bleeder) if need be. The catch can has a hole in the lid that lets it breathe. I tried my hardest this morning nailing some crazy turns and could not get a drop into the catch can. So this is working exactly as I wanted.
During the week this week I plan on getting the baseboard built and the tank mounted solidly so I can eliminate the bungee cords. I also have purchased disconnects for all the electrical so I can remove the twist locks.

I use a combination of Coolingmist/Enginerunup parts and some pieces were fabricated. The pump is a Surflow 150psi pump which is controlled by a boost switch/relay set to 10psi with dual check valves leading to pre and post IC injectors. Pre injector is a 2 gph nozzle while the post is 5 gph. I have tried setting up a progressive system which leads the 5 inj to come on at 10psi and the 2 inj added at 15 psi. This was complicated and didn't merit any noticable improvement so I went back to single stage. The check valves proved to be more reliable than solenoids. The reservoir tank is 8 qts and mounted next to the N2O bottle in the boot as well as the primary pump. The mixture is 50/50 pure methanol and distilled water. Do not use washer fluid or tap water...it will gum up your internals...
Under boost, the IAT will drop below ambient with meth/water injection!
