Again, I'm really still in...
I knew that........Really It just kinda of reads like "tag you're out" or it, depending...

I wonder what gains are to be had from that? A few HP? Less heat build up via reduced turbulence and parasitic drag? But that would have to be a friggin tiny clutch to fit our cars....

And if the SC had a clutch, air actually would flow through the by-pass into the engine, as so many believe...

I'm working on this, and have it pretty much planned out. Dave at DDM has been great working with me on it.

The M45 in the pic is the off the shelf unit with a couple of changes ( HPC coating for 1 ). It is not for a Mini. There is only 1 BPV passage & it is integrated into the horn on the backside of the SC. The unfortunate part for this application is the intergration of accessories ( SpiderX ). It would be a better idea to be thinking the latest Eaton offering. The M62 is almost a consumer kit. There are pure turbo kits now & on the way. Has the M45 been optimized? A clutch drive might make a difference. Is it worth the time? Maybe. IMHO -The future for the SC guy is in the new Eaton.
Maybe a new thread, on the subject, would generate enough detail input for the development of the project

When my IC boot slipped off one of the horns I could hardly drive my car cause the rev's were all over the pace. Would this not happen if a clutch was put onto a SC?

You guys have quickly taken this thread way over my head. I clearly need to learn more about superchargers in general.
