Well I was reading my Feb 2007 eurotuner magazine and came across something that interested me. Normally the only cars are old Vdubs and some BMWs, so seeing the MINI in there was a shock. I read the article and it was done by MINI-madness. It has a (obviously) custom turbo only setup with a GT28RS turbo, Madness water-air intercooler, AEM tuning, catless/mufflerless exhaust, JE pistons, balanced and blueprinted block, injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, oil cooler, oil pan, etc. Its completely done for the track with roll cage and most of the interior stripped. Pretty sick color too, satin black...

Anyways, George at MINI-Madness said the car is putting out 329hp and 237ft/lb tq at just 17lbs. Anyone know anything about the turbo setup? If enough people are interested I guess I could scan the article.

In comparison to the Fireballed! turbo setup posted by Fireballed Brian. The MINI-Madness one looks more factory looking and the Fireballed! one looks more aftermarket/tuner (thats how I like it) and looks to have more potential...

Does it say in the article what it weighed in at?? or is the 106mph 1/4 mile speed a misprint and it should read 116mph

 

I can't really give you any technical details, but I did see it when they hosted a tech session for our local club last year. The black paint job was truly amazing. Also, you have to do a "dukes of hazard" to get in and out because the role cage blocks most of the door. Sadly, I could only sit in it.

 

Hmm just checked the article. Nope doesn't say what it weighed in at or the trap speed. But if you see the video whoever was driving doesn't know how to launch that car... high 13s is far from impressive for that car IMHO...

 

Soooo, does anyone remember how this car did last year at the race in Vegas? I do recall passing it on the start in my 200hp street/track car. Maybe they have the kinks worked out?
