Drivetrain anyone with pinging problems
anyone with pinging problems
i have a 2005 mini cooper s with b&b exhaust, madness intake 15% pulley, alta bigger intercooler, evotech chip, irdium plugs, and wires and i had a 19% pulley but went down to a 15% thinking i would elminate the pinging but it still occurs around 4000 rpm and when im flooring it i also tried tolune fuel additive and other octane boosters. does anyone have this problem i have about 33,000 miles on the car
El Griton.. has the KEY!! Look HARD into the post on the water/methanol injection!! With a tune some are getting as much as 17 WHP and as much as 11 on a stock ECU!! It will cure any pinging issues you have!! There are a number of kits out there... I use the adjustable Pressure/ on-on full by Snow Performance!! It rocks!! Here in FL. we pulled 11 whp on a HOT engine and NO I/C cooling fan, trying to get as close to street driving as we could!! It rocks.. is safe.. and freaking WORKS!!

no after the evotech ecu and i had it reprogrammed twice by mini madness and it still pings right now i have the stock program in i'm not sure if i want to deal with georege from mini madness anymore it costs me 75.00 dollars every time i send the ecu out to reprogram. I recommend someone to reprogram the ecu in person custom mapping.

Looks like the Evotech is introducing a lean condition at 4,000. Seems like Madness would get it re-done free for you, if you already sent it back and it still does it.
You shouldn't have to buy expensive super high octane to offset a faulty tune.
