WAY WORKS 17% pulley

I just installed a Way Motor works 17% pulley last night and all I can say is WOW ! After installing it with two of my friends we took it out for a test spin to make sure nothing fell off the car and in third gear at about 2 grand he told me to punch it. This thing took off like a scalded cat. It pulled so hard up to 6 grand I actually had to take my foot out of it because it was just crazy fast, (major grunt). It put a grin on my face a mile wide. He said, welcome to the pulley club. On my way home I gave it the gas getting onto the freeway and this thing just flew. What a great mod to add to my new air box and one ball exhaust. I want to thank Waylen at Wayworks for steering me in the right direction. Great service and a great guy to deal with. I highly recomend his shop. Thanks Waylen,

What I like most about Waylen is that he spent a lot of time with me on several phone calls about what I wanted to do with my mini and really explained to me what would be best for my style of driving and why these components would work best. I will always call him first when looking for performance for my Mini. I'ts very cool that when you call his shop, he picks up the phone and takes the time to explain his products and has the know how of what might work best for your applications.

Ok the more Im talking to people in california and technicians the more they tell me to stay away from anything over the 15% pulley which I have on my 02 MCS. Can anyone shed some more light in to this? What I have been told is that the emission control in cali with along with the smog check would not allow the car to do what a 17% pulley does and hence the advice to stay away from it.

Anyone wants to chime in on this matter?
