Battery box metal shield

Is it ok to leave the battery box metal shield off? It won't fit with my alta exhaust installed. I have to take it in for some warranty work next week and I am wondering if that would be a problem with it off.

Mine's been off for over a year with no problems and I usually leave it off customer cars that I install exhausts on because you have to bend it all to h*ll to make it fit, anyway. A good number are already badly bent when they come into the shop, too.

It's OK to leave off. All it does is collect dust, which gets in your eyes when you take it off... I ended up bending mine to fit and painting it flat black, but just removing it shouldn't cause any problems for you at the dealer.
