My sincerest apologies........

Before I desist, please tell me what the original "topic" of this thread was:

- Wrongfully accusing Brian of slamming people for Webb.......

- Providing yet another complaint forum for those people who can't get a return call from WMS........

- Providing Randy with free business advice.......

- Postulating on Randy's current occupation.......

It takes a while to get a reply from him. I've written many times to which I get zero email and then a week later I'll get an email. He's said that he's replied to all my emails, but I've never received any until that one reply. So he may have possibly replied to my emails and they weren't received, so possibly he may have an IT issue there. If you're desparate for parts and time sensitive, then go elsewhere as he is very difficult to reach. But I find he is honest and does try hard for his customers, but for me, my last attempt at purchase fell through on account of lack of communication.

since you are struggling with what the original topic was

Anyone still doing business with WEBB motorsports? just asking cause i do not get any answers either phone or email.
He would like to know if anyone has heard from randy. That was pretty simple to find out

Secondly. I never ACCUSED Brian of slamming people FOR randy. I simply showed that, as an employee, he was slamming rather than answering this post. Never was it said that it was FOR randy. It was just said simply that he was doing it instead of posting in this thread (under the mistaken knowledge that he worked for randy). He also then informed me that he no longer worked there and i immediately apologized.

The facts in this thread:
  • A number of people have had problems with Webb returning calls and emails
    • The problem has been on going for a while and isn't just a recent occurence
  • There are a number of people who have not had problems with webb returning correspondence.
    • They don't see the problem, and thus feel others should stop 'bashing' randy.
  • Randy still hasn't responded to this thread
  • There is speculation that his other job(s) are taking up his time (no matter what it is)

Ah........thanks for clarifying that for me and at the same time so succinctly summarizing this confusing thread .

You are a veritable font of information on all things Webb.

Merry Kwanza!

PM 62Lincoln.

By my count, half his posts consist of that popcorn-eating emoticon.

It's great to see that some people feel sarcasm is the best way to answer posts, and posting verbose responses using 10th grade vocabulary words apparently makes them sound more intelligent than they really are .

I don't usually post to these types of threads, mostly because I've never done business with Webb (And probably never will, because I enjoy communication, and have no interest in waiting weeks at a time to hear when i'll be getting something I just was charged $1500 for ). I just can't stand watching all the people that are Gaga for Webb respond to posts like this anymore .

Randy does NOT answer phone calls at all... (Read the dozens of posts on NAM about it)

He does NOT return e-mails in a time period that is acceptable for someone running a business (Again, read the dozens of posts on NAM about it, Waiting 9 days to hear anything from someone that you just gave $500-$1000 is unacceptable)

End of story, there is no confusion. What he's doing with his personal life is his own business, and whatever profession he has decided to become involved with is also his own business. Do NOT try to run a company by yourself if you don't have the time to manage it.

This isn't a complicated topic, all the OP wanted to know was whether he should use WMS for whatever he's looking to buy, and if they promptly return calls and e-mails. Most likely he posted this due to the recent flood of people that have been having issues contacting Randy.

I don't know Randy, i'm sure he's a great guy, and I doubt his goal is to frustrate his customers, but for gods sake, if you don't have time to run a company while working full time, DON'T!!!

I admire Randy for what he's done for MINI DIYers. I wouldn't have tackled things like a pulley install myself if it weren't for his outstanding how-tos.

I can't tell you how much stuff I've bought from him... probably more than $7k worth of gear... I received most of it on time. The last item I purchased from him was about a year ago, and he was pretty good with the customer service on that (he even called me to check how the install was going for me, and this was unprompted).

On a couple of items I had to wait a looooong time (months, actually), so what can I say? On the whole, I'd say both Preparation H and WMS feel pretty good...

Nice use of sarcasm! I could tell you were sarcastic by the eye rolling emoticon you used. Well played!

Your point is well taken, however no one is blindly rushing to his defence on this thread. If the OP can't get ahold of him, what does it matter if anyone else can?

If it was you, and your calls and e-mails were not being answered, would you decide to do business with him because he returned my calls, or Lou's, or anyone elses?

Of course not, and you stated that in your post.

Whether Randy is a nice guy or not, whether he's done alot or little to this community is irrelevant to the OPs question and the WMS business model has been dissected more times than either you or I can care to remember.

So my apologies for attempting to poke fun at these vendor bashing threads in general. The OPs original thread can either die or turn into another marathon of WMS bashing and WMS supporting.

Keep in mind folks that I don't believe it was TUFFMINI's intent to have people dredge up their personal gripes with WMS, the current state of his personal life or advice on how to run a business.

So how about we don't.

We should start a new thread called " The I am obsessed with Randy Webb thread." The facts are (1) Randy is a really nice guy (2) Randy is very knowledgeable (3) Randy is overextended (4) WMS oftens has poor and slow service. (4) THe WMS forum has become hacked by porno posts. Case closed!!! BTW, Randy installed my Milltek exhaust at a Pulley Party. When he is available, he is the best!!

Or how about this novel idea...

A thread dedicated to would-be bashers and fanboys alike... A veritable group @ss-kiss / bash-fest for all.... And of course the appropriate emoticon... monkeys hurling poop at one another. Oh wait... that's already been done, many times over. What interesting title will the next have? (still need the monkeys hurling poop emoticon... anyone...? Bueller?)

When Webb or M7 (instert other vendor) bashing tops the performance and tuning Forums I begin to question NAM’s vitality.... As evidently a majority would rather see/be involved in a scrap, than be positive or productive as a community.

In case some haven't noticed a bunch of long time members who'd had lots of knowledge & experience to contribute are scarce. Is it any wonder?

Save for the humor, threads such as this (IMHO questionable merit to begin with) quickly spiral downward - one-way tickets to uselessville.

How about a thread that would actually benefit the community at large? The new year is fast approaching... collective resolution?

Monkeys throwing poop...

Skiploder???? Perhaps you should wait until 2007 to find the emoticon; that way you could have an entrant for the 2007 Emoticon of the Year award....
